Cinnamon Sticks Ingredients
- refrigerated pizza dough
- melted butter
- dark brown sugar
- granulated sugar
- ground cinnamon
Frosting Ingredients
- powdered sugar
- vanilla extract
- heavy whipping cream
Equipment
- parchment paper
- pizza cutter
- kitchen scissors
- basting/pastry brush
- spoon
- small mixing bowl
- medium mixing bowl
- whisk
- large air fryer
Step 1: Open the can of pizza dough and unroll the the dough. Cut the pizza dough into four equal rectangles using a sharp or kitchen scissors. Move one rectangle to parchment paper. Cover the dough rectangle with melted butter using a pastry brush.
Step 2: In a small mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Stir well with a spoon or whisk until well mixed, and no lumps remain. Sprinkle the mixture over the butter, and then pat down with your hands. If you don't pat the sugar/cinnamon mixture down, you'll be able to hear it blowing around everywhere in your air fryer.
Step 3: Add the parchment paper with the rectangle with the sugar/cinnamon mixture into the air fryer basket. Cook in the air air fryer at 375°F for 7-9 minutes. Remove from air fryer and let cool.
Step 4: Prepare and cook the remaining dough the same as you did for the first one.
Step 5: While the cinnamon sticks are cooling, make the frosting. In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy whipping cream. Mix until smooth. You can add additional whipping cream 1-2 tsp at a time, to thin the frosting to the consistency you want.
Step 6: Once the cinnamon sticks are cool, cut into 1" wide sticks. Drizzle icing over the cinnamon sticks and let them sit for about 1-2 minutes until the icing stiffens.
Leftovers
If you end up with any leftovers, you can keep them in the fridge up to one week. Just make sure to put them in an air tight container or on a plate with some plastic wrap.
Tips
Make sure to pat the cinnamon sugar mix down with your hands before air frying the cinnamon sticks. Otherwise, you may lose most of the mixture as it flies around the air fryer.
Let the sticks cool down before adding the icing. If you add the icing while the cinnamon sticks are still fairly warm, the icing melts too quickly.
